The Government of Canada has begun issuing the long-awaited one-time disability payment.
Ottawa estimates some 1.6-million people were eligible for the tax-free benefit, to help offset costs accrued during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The government began issuing the funds yesterday, months after the payment was announced.
The deadline to apply for the Disability Tax Credit was extended until December 31 to aid those in need who may have missed the initial cut-off for the benefit.
