The Department of Health and Community Services says contact tracing is underway after two new cases of COVID-19 were identified in Central Newfoundland.
One of the cases is a man between 20-39 years old, the other is a man in his 50s. Both recently returned home from work in Alberta.
Officials say the cases are not connected with a prior diagnosis, and the two men are not of the same household. They have been self-isolating since returning. Contact tracing is underway.
That means the provincial total now rests at 294, with five active cases.
To date, 53,851 people have been tested for the virus.
