The province’s Director of Public Prosecutions says the investigation into the death of Jonathan Henoche at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary in November of 2019 is still active and progressing.

Lloyd Strickland was responding to lawyer Bob Buckingham who represents the family of Henoche.

Buckingham told VOCM News that Henoche’s family had been contacted by police who indicated the investigation was complete.

Yesterday, Buckingham issued a release seeking an update on the case on the anniversary of Henoche’s death.

The RNC and Department of Justice both indicate that the investigation is still active.

Strickland says an investigation is complete when a file has been presented to the Department of Justice.

He expects the investigation to conclude in the near future.
