Health officials are reporting two new cases of COVID-19 in the province today.
Both of the cases are travel-related, and both are in the Eastern Health region.
The first case involves a woman in her 60s who just returned to the province from Europe, while the second case involves a woman between 20 and 39 years old who just returned from the United States.
Both women have been isolating since arrival. The two cases are not linked and they are not members of the same household.
The Department of Health is advising passengers on flight 7480 from Montreal to St. John’s on Thursday to call 811 for COVID testing, and say this is out of an abundance of caution due to the second case, which is the one originating from the United States.
The province now has six active cases of the virus.
