Newfoundland and Labrador reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 on Sunday.
The new case is a female in the Western Health region between the ages of 22 and 39, and she is a resident of the province.
Health officials say the source of the infection is under investigation and more information will be provided as it becomes available. They say the person is self-isolating and contact tracing is underway. Also, anyone considered a close contact has been advised to quarantine.
This brings the province’s number of active cases to seven, following two new cases reported on Saturday.
To date, 286 people have recovered from the virus in Newfoundland and Labrador and four people have died.
