A 47-year-old man was arrested and charged in the metro region last night with flight from police.
Shortly after 9 p.m., the RNC attempted to stop a vehicle travelling west on Pitts Memorial Drive. A short pursuit followed after the driver failed to stop, but officers stopped the chase due to safety concerns.
Police found the vehicle unoccupied a short time later. With the help of the K9 unit, the man was located and arrested.
He was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, multiple breaches of court orders, an outstanding warrant of arrest and a number of summary offence tickets.
The man was held for court this morning.
