The spirit of Christmas is alive and well at Holy Family Elementary School in Paradise.

The grade 2 French class at the school decided to help a family in need this holiday season by collecting donations and purchasing some items they may need.

They took the family’s wish list and bought what was needed, and then used what was left for gift cards.

Parent Stacy Breen says the students are at a great age to learn from this type of gesture. She says the message of giving during the holiday season is already making an impression on the students.

She says it hit home for her when her son said how good he felt to be Christmas shopping for someone else.

Breen says the students enjoyed helping others out and want to be a part of the tradition every year.
