The capital city will look a little brighter beginning tomorrow, as the annual Christmas light celebration gets underway from Confederation Hill.
About 60,000 LED lights will illuminate the Christmas tree outside Confederation Building, as well as the trees lining Prince Philip Drive.
The event will also feature performances by Fortunate Ones and the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band.
There will be no public gathering due to COVID-19 restrictions, however, the event will be streamed on the provincial government’s social media.
Municipalities, businesses, and folks at home are encouraged to join the province-wide celebration by turning on their own lights at 5:45 on Thursday.
