The company proposing to establish a cold storage facility in Long Pond Harbour has cleared another hurdle.
OCI wishes to build a facility to store fish, but those plans don’t sit well with everyone in the town.
Company president and CEO Blaine Sullivan says Navigable Waters Canada has just given the project the green light. The final step would be municipal approval following the land use assessment process.
Sullivan acknowledges that some residents are apprehensive but he is confident that the hesitation will subside once they see the plan and look at it in the overall context.
