Newfoundland Growlers owner Dean MacDonald is ramping up his efforts to purchase and refurbish Mile One Centre from the City of St. John’s.
A new link, www.newmileone.com will now bring you to a portion of the Newfoundland Growlers website dedicated solely to MacDonald’s vision for the building.
The organization says using the feedback they have received from season ticket holders over the past two seasons, they have put together a new vision for the future of Mile One that would bring much-needed upgrades to the facility.
The features include increasing accessibility, easier and faster access to concessions, updating the box office and production studio, a new full-service restaurant and merchandise store, and much more.
The website lays out MacDonald’s vision with a breakdown of the 365 day a year business model, modernized fan experience and a new 9,000 square-foot food court.
It also includes no operating subsidy from the City of St. John’s.
Meanwhile, the results of the KPMG report into the potential sale of Mile One Centre should be made available this month.
Initially, it was said that the report would be out in early December.
St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen says the report is with KPMG and civilian board members from St. John’s Sports and Entertainment. Once they are done with it, it will be presented to the council.
