It’s a big day for volunteer firefighters in the area of Harbour Main-Chapels Cove-Lakeview, as the town’s new fire truck is now officially in service.
The fire department shared the word yesterday, as some of their members set out to transfer gear from their old truck to the new rig.
The town itself covered the $130,000 price tag for the used 2007 Pierce Saber, in order to replace the fire department’s ageing 1994 pumper.
Not only will the truck help modernize the department, but it will expand the coverage of rescue services within the region.

Today we had our pumper presentation. Thank you to Mayor Mike Doyle and the rest of the council for purchasing this 2007 Pierce Pumper for us. Thank you for our neighboring fire departments for attending as well as Kent Abbott, pic.twitter.com/9tqiUffDL6
