Visitor restrictions are in place on a unit at St. Clare’s Hospital after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
All patients on unit 6 East have been put in isolation and will be tested between days five and seven of their exposure.
The number of potentially affected staff is not yet known.
Occupational Health is reaching out to employees who are contacts of the affected employee and are being provided with information on testing and isolation.
Eastern Health says the affected employee was sent home immediately to isolate, while enhanced cleaning protocols are in place.
Patients who require emergency services and those with scheduled appointments are being told to proceed to the hospital for care.
