Elections NL cannot say at this time how many elections workers are quitting or refusing to work the polls that are scheduled to be open tomorrow.
First, election workers began to quit prompting Elections NL to suspend the election in nearly half the districts.
Now, the agency is scrambling to come up with an alternate polling station just hours away before the polls open.
The Town for Burlington on the Baie Verte Peninsula was to be a polling station but the town issued notice on social media that because of the COVID outbreak, all municipal buildings are closed to the public.
That includes the polling station that was to be used tomorrow. Council says Elections NL has been notified of the change.
