About 50 staff with the City of St. John’s are isolating after two employees tested positive for COVID-19. That has put a strain on response time but the city is moving staff around to where the need is greatest, particularly critical services.
Mayor Danny Breen says response times may be longer in some situations.
Recycling collection has been suspended for at least two weeks but Robin Hood Bay is open.
All recreational facilities—indoor and outdoor—are closed, including the Loop.
Mayor Breen says they could have kept it open but Public Health had set a maximum of 10. Prior to the change in alert levels, it was 40.
He says they’re working on grooming some trails including Quidi Vidi to allow people an opportunity to get outdoors.
