5 Wing Goose Bay is warning snowmobile riders of hazards around the perimeter of the facility.
They say that ongoing snow-clearing is being conducted around the perimeter fences of the facility, which raises safety concerns for those who deviate from the trails and use the fences as a guide.
In such areas, riders may encounter steep unexpected drops. As well, due to the depth of the snow, many obstacles, both man-made and natural, may be hidden. Hazard signs may not be visible either.
Regardless of which area you’re in, 5 Wing Goose Bay reminds that going off the trails is strictly prohibited.
