After being closed for more than two-weeks as staff members self-isolated and were tested for COVID-19, the Bigs Ultimate Sports Grill has re-opened for take-out.
Owner Terry Bell says they were asked to shut on Saturday, February 6 after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. In the 24-hours to follow, Public Health tested the remaining 27 employees, which all came back negative.
Out of an abundance of caution, all staff still had to isolate for 14-days despite the negative tests.
Bell says he was relieved to know that only one staff member tested positive. He says he considers his employees like family, working side-by-side every day.
As a special thanks to front-line workers, Bell and his staff are offering a free lunch. He says with the help of MUNN Insurance, close friend CJ Nolan, Mayor Dave Aker, and the City of Mount Pearl, they’re hoping to get some lunch brought out to the brave souls out in the cold and give them a warm meal in their bellies.
