St. John’s City Council will be discussing the potential use of multiple parcels of city-owned land for affordable housing during today’s committee of the whole meeting.

The city’s housing division is looking to develop a public engagement plan to engage with stakeholders regarding five areas across the city, including land on Empire Avenue, Eric Street, Forest Road, Waterford Bridge Road, and Freshwater Road at Terra Nova Road.

An engagement process is already underway regarding the land on Eric Street.

The committee of the whole meeting is set to get underway at 9:30 this morning.
