One person is under investigation for possible impaired driving after a single-vehicle crash on the Tilton Barrens, Monday afternoon.

Bay Roberts RCMP were called to the scene around 1:45. The driver, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle, was found trapped inside.

The road had to be closed for a period of time while the driver was removed and taken to hospital in Carbonear.

RCMP say evidence was found pointing toward possible impaired driving and accompanied the driver to hospital.

Police are seeking a warrant for the driver’s blood to determine if impaired driving charges are appropriate in connection with the incident.

Police report the driver’s injuries are not life-threatening.
