The Progressive Conservative Party Leader is calling on Premier Andrew Furey to show what evidence he used to call the provincial election.
Furey asserted that calling the election for mid-February was the safest time to do so.
Since then the province has experienced the outbreak of the UK variant of the COVID virus, moving the election to a protracted, mail-in system.
PC Leader Ches Crosbie accuses Furey of hiding the modeling he used to inform his decision behind what he calls “a bogus claim of cabinet confidentiality.”
Crosbie says the Premier previously referenced the modeling in a public briefing on February 9.
Crosbie alleges that either the modeling doesn’t exist, or the Premier is misleading people.
