While sporting activities remain on hold due to COVID restrictions, the Feildians Athletic Association has found a way to continue training – virtually.
More than 350 Dribble Up Smart soccer balls were handed out to their U-17 members on the weekend.
Director with the club’s board, David Webb says the balls offer a new and innovative way to allow athletes to keep developing and stay engaged.
Webb says the balls look and feel like regular soccer balls, but are embedded with sensors and smart technology.
All the athletes have to do is download the Dribble Up app and start practicing.
He says it challenges the player, from beginner to expert level, to become more fluent with all parts of their feet. It also provides game-based competition with players from around the world who also have the app.
