There are no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province today with one single active case remaining.
In the meantime, the province is providing an update on vaccination rates in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Just over 10 per cent of the province’s population has received their first dose of COVID vaccine up to March 23.
Of the 271,704 eligible adults—those aged 18 and older—in the Eastern Health region, about 8.22% have received the first dose of their vaccine.
In the Central Health region, 8.81% of the eligible population—81,195—have been vaccinated. In Western Health, the percentage is 10.27% of 67,997 eligible people.
The highest percentage of the local population who have received their first vaccine is in Labrador-Grenfell Health at 31.69% of 29,119 eligible residents.
Pre-registration continues for people 70 and older, those who identify as Indigenous, and home support workers.
