The retiring CEO of Nalcor says the future of Newfoundland and Labrador depends on how its hydro resources are managed.
Stan Marshall presided over his final AGM yesterday after more than five years at the helm.
Asked his opinion on the PERT recommendation to abolish Nalcor, Marshall says that’s not the issue.
He says the focus has to be on retaining and obtaining highly skilled workers, rather than names or organizational structure, adding how Churchill Falls and Muskrat Falls are managed in the future will dictate the province’s destiny.
Marshall was the CEO of Fortis Inc. for 18 years before joining Nalcor. He’ll be succeeded by Jennifer Williams, who will also retain her role as president of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.
