The provincial government is donating tree seedlings to youth groups and service organizations across the province.

The Department of Fisheries and Agriculture donates about 100,000 tree seedlings annually to community-based organizations.

Over 32,000 tree seedlings have already been donated to organizations such as Scouts Canada, Junior Forest Wardens, Forests Without Borders, student planters at the College of the North Atlantic, and various schools and Lions Clubs chapters throughout the province.

The seedlings were grown at the Provincial Tree Nursery in Wooddale in Central Newfoundland.
