Two men were sent to the lockup last night on assault charges in separate incidents.

At 11:45 in the morning, police responded to a disturbance in the center city of St. John’s. A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and mischief to property. He was sent to HMP Lockup.

At 11:30 that night, RNC received a call about a domestic disturbance in Paradise. After investigating, police arrested a 47-year-old man, who was charged with common assault, a less severe assault charge based on the victim’s injuries. There were no injuries reported at the scene. The man was set to appear in court this morning, following a night in the lockup.
