A man who was operating an ATV on the west coast on the weekend was doing so while impaired.

The 45-year-old, who is from Deer Lake, was stopped in the area of Upper Nicholsville Road at 11:00 in the night.

RCMP say breath samples showed that he was over twice the legal limit.

He was released from custody to appear at a later date. The ATV was seized.
