The Avalon Mall held a grand reopening over the weekend.
Over the past three years, a project to continue the development of the province’s largest shopping centre has seen many new stores and tenants emerge.
That project was officially capped off Saturday with a grand reopening in the new wing of the mall, with prizes and donations awarded on behalf of Crombie REIT, the owner of the mall. First Light NL, who partner with the Avalon Mall, received a $10,000 donation during the ceremony.

General manager Donna Vincent says it has been a long journey. She says as you look around the mall, you see all new tile, lighting and brands, which she calls a “transformed Avalon Mall.”
St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen calls the transformation a “great boost for the city” and the province’s economy.
