Ten of the province’s 80 remaining World War II veterans, ranging in age from 95 to 102, will be “on parade” this Friday as part of a short motorcade from the Caribou Memorial Veterans’ Pavilion to the Pleasantville Legion.
The public is being invited to line the motorcade route to greet the veterans as they pass in cars provided by the Antique and Classic Car Club.
The motorcade, led by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the Commandos Canada Motorcycle Club, will depart the Caribou complex at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 2nd, before arriving at the Pleasantville Legion to attend A Night at the USO, a private special event to honour their service.
