Eastern Health has updated its visitor restrictions in line with phase one of the province’s reopening.
As of today, visitors from outside Atlantic Canada will be allowed inside Eastern Health facilities provided they are not self-isolating, have symptoms of COVID-19, or have been recently exposed to the virus.
Exceptions for people who are self-isolating may be granted for obstetrics and end-of-life care.
As well, routine COVID testing for hospital admissions is no longer required. All patients will be screened by using the COVID-19 Triage Screening Tool.
Those who have any symptoms or exposures to the virus will continue to be tested.
