The China National Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOCC has finished drilling Pelles—its first exploration well in the Newfoundland offshore.
The company says now that drilling operations are complete, they are plugging and abandoning the well—something they call standard procedure for all exploration wells.
Two international publications earlier this year identified the well as one to watch.
