A project run through MUN’s Geo Centre is holding its first Youth Climate Summit.
Climate Collective is bringing young people together for the summit, which aims to connect young people to opportunities for climate innovation.
This year’s theme is “Take Action.” Young people from around the province are invited to virtually attend talks, discussion sessions, and workshops that will be featured at the event.
Workshops will cover topics such as sustainability, solar panels, eco-fiction, and water conservation.
2021 Climate Collective Intern, Emma Troake will be leading a session on developing a climate action plan. She says the summit is a great opportunity for young people in the province as one of the largest groups interested in climate action.
The free four-day event starts July 28 and runs until July 31. Those interested can sign up on the Climate Collective’s website.
