This is Regatta week in St. John’s if all goes according to plan and the city has outlined the traffic picture for Derby Day.
Clancey Drive, Lake Avenue, Carnell Drive and Lakeview Avenue will be shut down except for designated vehicles. The Boulevard will remain open to traffic, but parking and stopping are not permitted. If problems develop, the city will close it off.

(Road closures around Quidi Vidi for the 2021 Royal St. John’s Regatta.)
Parking for participants of the event will be at the lower Dominion parking lot on Lake Avenue, which can be accessed via the north entrance to Dominion off King’s Bridge Road.
The changes will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the committee reiterates that attendance should be limited to those involved or have someone involved in the races. Once your race of interest is over, move out of the cohort circle and allow someone else in.

(Example of the cohort circles painted lakeside.)
President Bradley Power says there will be plenty of opportunity to see and hear the races and trophy/medals presentations.
The Regatta Committee will have live drone footage of the races on their website.
The Go/No Go announcement comes around 5:30 Wednesday morning and VOCM News will be at the Boathouse for that.
