Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is bringing back mandatory masking in clinical areas at hospitals and health-care facilities across the province.
The requirement takes effect Wednesday, November 4th, at 8 a.m., and includes long-term care facilities.
The move comes as facilities are reporting increases in respiratory illnesses. The requirements will apply to visitors, support persons, patients, outpatient clinic and emergency department clients, as well as health-care workers..
The masking guidelines are expected to be re-evaluated by March 31st, 2027.
