Public Health officials have issued a notification about two possible COVID exposure sites in the metro region—and about the detection of COVID-19 in wastewater in Paradise.
Officials say the potential exposures occurred at Costco in St. John’s on Sunday, August 22 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and at Sobey’s on Topsail Road in Paradise on Tuesday, August 24 from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Anyone who visited either of those two locations during those times is asked to seek testing. Arrangements can be made by completing the online COVID self-assessment and referral tool, or by calling 811.
Those who visited those locations and who have symptoms are asked to isolate until 24 hours after they symptoms resolve or if they receive a negative test result.
Meanwhile residents are being advised that the COVID virus has been detected in wastewater testing in the town of Paradise—indicating that there is virus in the area. Residents who experience symptoms are asked to get tested.
