For the first time in over 50 years, the Feildians are challenge cup champions.
The team beat Holy Cross Kirby Group 2-1 in the finals of the Johnson Insurance Challenge Cup at King George V park in St. John’s Sunday.
The win marks the first championship win for the team since 1969.
Following the win, Greg Reid of the Feildians was named tournament MVP.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association has announced its Johnson Insurance Challenge Cup Awards for the 2021 regular season.
Holy Cross Kirby Group comes out on top with four awards, including first place overall and the coach of the year award.
The Feildians took home three awards, two of which went to Emmanuel Dolo for the top scorer and MVP of the regular season.
Wil Gamperl of the CBS That Pro Look Strikers took home the most spirited award, and Dylan Crichton of Paradise was recognized as the top goalie.
As well, the league also announced its all-star team.

Most Spirited (Jim Goff award): Wil Gamperl, CBS That Pro Look Strikers
Rookie of the Year (Ed Moyst award): Hashem Khalifa, Holy Cross
Top Goalie (Al Slaney award): Dylan Crichton, Paradise
