St. John’s new controversial Heritage By-Law will be enacted next week.
The by-law has been in the works for many years, first being published in 2014 before going through a lengthy review process.
The by-law, first made public last March, has received mostly negative feedback.
Councillor Maggie Burton says there is still work to be done to preserve heritage in St. John’s, expecting the next make-up of council to continue the expansion of said by-law moving forward.
