St. John’s City Council is singing the praises of residents, staff and emergency crews in the wake of Hurricane Larry.
At yesterday’s council meeting, members of council expressed their gratitude to everyone who stayed safe and helped others during the extreme winds.
Mayor Danny Breen says people took the advice and staff stepped up.
Breen feels the city made it through relatively unscathed, while commending the work of first responders and Newfoundland Power.
Deputy Mayor Sheilagh O’Leary says that in times of crisis, neighbourhoods band together.
O’Leary says that Hurricane Larry was no different, something to be proud of.
