The Opposition has written Auditor General Denise Hanrahan asking that she conduct an investigation into the air purification contract for the province’s schools.
Barry Petten is raising questions about the $8-million contract awarded after he says bidders on the tender were told they were non-compliant.
Petten claims government was negligent from the start in not issuing the tender months earlier to ensure a thorough process and delivery of units before school started.
Petten wants to know why the tender was only open for one week and why all the bids received were deemed to be non-compliant.
