The Atlantic Provinces Economic Council says economic recovery in the region continues, helped along by further easing of COVID restrictions.
Employment in Newfoundland and Labrador remains about 3,000 below pre-pandemic levels according to APEC, while the population continues to decline.
NL exports improved significantly in 2021 due to a rebound in activity and stronger commodity prices.
APEC’s latest report also shows that recent announcements by Suncor and Cenovus have provided a much-needed boost to the province’s offshore sector.
