The annual Take Back the Night St. John’s will take place this Friday at Harbourside Park.

It’s part of Sexual Violence Awareness Week activities.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre says traditionally the march is facilitated in part with local police, however with recent allegations against certain RNC officers, organizers this year opted for a “police-free” event.

Instead of a march, a gathering will take place Friday, September 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
