Young girls involved in last weekend’s Junior Miss Newfoundland and Labrador pageant have raised a significant amount of money for Shriners.
Over $14,100 was raised by 12 girls involved in the event.
12-year-old Delilah Sullivan of Coley’s Point won the pageant and received her crown last weekend.
According to Sullivan, the money will go towards helping children fly to one of three hospital locations for treatment.
Sullivan says this year they raised far more than they ever have in the past, noting that it was a real community effort.
She is proud of all of the girls who were involved for caring so much and helping other children.
