This weekend thousands of people will be taking to the streets for the 41st annual Terry Fox Run, though this year will still look different with pandemic restrictions in place.
Kirk Leach, Provincial Director with the Terry Fox Foundation, explains that last year the structure of the event was black and white as most jurisdictions prohibited any sort of mass public gatherings.
However, with restrictions loosened this year there are more grey areas.
If anyone chooses to run with a group, they are asking that all local public health guidelines be followed.
Leach says that the virtual run in St. John’s last year was quite successful, raising just as much money as in-person runs in previous years.
The Terry Fox Run is taking place on Sunday.
