The PC Opposition says it’s time for the premier to step in and take over the reins on the health file.
Interim PC Leader David Brazil today echoed NAPE’s position yesterday that Minister John Haggie has failed to stem the growing crisis across the board in health care.
Brazil’s words come on the heels of desperate pleas from doctors, nurses and paramedics about big problems that are only getting worse.
Professionals themselves in those disciplines have also decried the increasing shortages and strain on staff and resources.
Brazil says only so much of the current situation, which he says is the worst he’s ever seen, can be blamed on COVID-19.
He says it’s time Premier Andrew Furey, with his own personal expertise and leadership experience in health care, to intervene and fix the issues.
Brazil, however, stopped short of calling for Haggie’s resignation.
