Visitation has been temporarily suspended at Saint Luke’s Homes in St. John’s, following positive COVID testing at the site.
Officials have not released the exact number of positive tests at St. Luke’s Homes.
Affected residents are undergoing testing, with isolation precautions are in place.
Eastern Health says contact tracing is ongoing and anyone considered a close contact will be notified.
The health authority says in exceptional circumstances, residents may be allowed one essential visitor or support person while visitor restrictions are in place.
Palliative care and end-of-life visitation should be discussed with the patient’s health care team.
