The second-largest municipality in the province has a new mayor.
Former Ward 1 Councillor Darrin Bent has been elected as the Mayor of Conception Bay South.
Former Mayor, Terry French, did not seek re-election.
Bent handily defeated Brad Suter and former CBS Mayor Steve Tessier, garnering over 2,400 votes, over a thousand more than either Suter and Tessier.
Bent tells VOCM News he is humbled and honoured by the confidence the people in CBS have shown him throughout this election.
Mayor-elect Darrin Bent will join the VOCM Morning Show this Wednesday morning at 8:20 a.m.
Shelley Moores, Andrea Gosse, Gerard Tilley and Melissa Hardy are the four ward councilors while the four at large are Rex Hillier, Christine Butler, Paul Connors and Joshua Barrett.
