A local theatre production company is stepping outside their usual venue for their first live show since the start of the pandemic.
White Rooster Theatre, who usually stage shows at the LSPU Hall, will be putting off “Jawbone” in the main reception hall of the GeoCentre in St. John’s.
The play, written by and starring Meghan Greeley and directed by Mallory Fisher, tells the story of a young woman who believes the only way to deal with her own inner turmoil is to sign up for a mission to Mars.
Artistic Director of White Rooster, Ruth Lawrence, says the venue fits the play.
The reception area features a giant celestial gallery, adding to the ambience and atmosphere of the play immensely. Lawrence says from the moment they walked in, they thought it was perfect.
Lawrence says the show helps celebrate what White Rooster is all about as it celebrates its 25th anniversary- elevating new talent.
Every person on the show, besides Greeley, are working with the production company for the first time.
The show runs tonight and tomorrow.
