No injuries were reported yesterday after the eave of a house in St. John’s caught fire while a resident was trying to get rid of a wasp nest.
St. John’s Regional was called to Albany Street around 1p.m.
Platoon Chief Dean Foley says a resident of the home was trying to exterminate a wasp nest with a torch, and ended up catching the eave of the house just above the porch on fire.
The fire department made quick work of the blaze.
There were no injuries and there was minimal damage to the home.
