Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is telling Canadians that if you want to travel this year, you will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Trudeau says by the end of October, anyone 12 and older on plane or train within Canada should be fully vaccinated, As well, vaccines will be mandatory for passengers on non-essential passenger vessels, like cruise ships, on voyages of 24 hours or more.
He says there will be a brief period where a negative COVID test will be accepted for travel while people continue to be vaccinated, but by the end of November testing will no longer be an option.
As of October 30th, people on planes and trains must be fully vaccinated. For a brief period, those in the process of getting vaccinated can show a negative molecular COVID-19 test. But by the end of November, everyone must be fully vaccinated – testing will not be an option.

Trudeau announced new measures yesterday including mandatory vaccines for federal employees. He says “only a few extremely narrow exceptions, like a valid medical condition,” will be accepted as a reason not to be vaccinated. Employees must be fully vaccinated by the end of the month.
The Prime Minister made the announcement yesterday to ensure that Canadians can get back to normal activities.
Update: Federal public servants must confirm their vaccination status by October 29th. Those who are not willing to disclose their status, and those who are not willing to be fully vaccinated, will be placed on administrative leave without pay as early as November 15th.
