The new St. John’s City Council was sworn in yesterday, and Mayor Danny Breen is eager to get to work.
He said he is “honoured and humbled” to be returning to council for his fourth term, his second as mayor.
More than anything, Breen is eager to be a part of a council with such a diverse makeup. “I’m excited to lead such a talented city council, with diverse backgrounds,” he said, “one that reflects the demographics of our city.”

Speaking to his new colleagues, Breen said that while some days ahead will be challenging, he has no doubt that the experience will be quite rewarding.
“The more effectively we work together, the better for everyone in St. John’s,” he said.
