Parts of the island and Labrador are in for a deluge as rainfall warnings have been issued.
The Churchill Falls area is in for about 40 mm but the southwest coast of Newfoundland gets a heavier drenching. The area from Port aux Basques to Burgeo is in for about 60 mm of rain, while the Wreckhouse area is under a wind warning. Southeasterlies gusting to 120 km/h will blast the area until early this afternoon when things calm down.
Marine Atlantic has cancelled all morning crossings.
