The Salvation Army will be officially presenting a new Emergency Disaster Services mobile unit to the team in Corner Brook, which will be used to service the west coast.
The Salvation Army EDS ministry continues to grow in Newfoundland and Labrador with this being the third vehicle added to the fleet.
Steven Hynes, the director of emergency services, says the truck is equipped with everything you need to prepare a hot meal and drinks to those who need it.
The vehicle will be available to respond to emergencies at a moment’s notice.
Last year, the Salvation Army EDS in this province helped more than 1,000 people through practical assistance and emotional and spiritual care.
The presentation is set for 11:00 a.m.
